In a passionate display of solidarity, fans of the late former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper are set to march to the Pretoria High Court on Friday, October 6th to demand #JusticeForSenzoMeyiwa.

This peaceful demonstration seeks to bring attention to crucial issues surrounding Meyiwa’s unsolved murder case.

#JusticeForSenzoMeyiwa: Fans Demand Impartiality and Transparency

Sinqobile Maphisa, the organizer of the march, emphasizes their primary goals: impartiality from presiding Judge Rath Mokgoatlheng and fair treatment for all counsels involved, Zimoja reveals. Concerns have arisen about Judge Mokgoatlheng’s alleged prejudice towards the defence counsel. Maphisa states,

The demand for docket 375 to be commissioned is also on the agenda, as well as the arrest of all who were in the house at the time of Meyiwa’s murder. Additionally, the five accused in the case to be released and relevant witnesses are being requested to come forward to provide evidence that could help solve the case.”

Senzo Meyiwa Unsolved Murder Case

Senzo Meyiwa’s tragic murder occurred on October 26, 2014, at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s family home in Vosloorus.

The State claims it was a botched robbery. Currently, five men are standing trial for premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of firearms without a license, and possession of ammunition.

These accused individuals are Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa, and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli.

The Crucial Docket 375

Docket 375, previously under investigation by Colonel Joyce Buthelezi and Warrant Officer Meshack Makhubo, was filed in 2019.

It called for charging the individuals present in the house at the time of Meyiwa’s murder. This list includes Kelly Khumalo, Longwe Twala, Gladness Khumalo, Zandi Khumalo, Tumelo Madlala and Mthokozisi Thwala. The docket also recommends charges against Maggie Phiri, alleged to have cleaned the crime scene before the police arrived.
