Senzo Meyiwa’s Brother Still Believes No Intruders Entered The House

Sfiso Meyiwa, the brother of slain Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, remains steadfast in his belief that there were no intruders on the day his brother was tragically shot dead.

Sfiso Meyiwa Challenges the Murder Trial

Speaking to Sunday World, Sfiso expressed his concern that the murder trial at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria might be misleading, as he believes the wrong individuals are facing charges.

He stated, “I am going to catch up on the whole case today because I was never in court the whole week. I did hear that there has been some developments that came up in court, but I still stand by what I said before that there is still no truth in what is happening and is being said in court.”

Senzo Meyiwa’s brother Asserts the Truth

Sfiso emphasized, “The truth still stands. Remember we had said that no one entered the house on the day? We still stand there.”

The Tragic Incident

On 26 October 2014, the talented footballer, Senzo Meyiwa, lost his life at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s house in Vosloorus, Gauteng, in what is believed to be a botched robbery.

The Accused on Trial

The murder trial involves five accused individuals facing charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of firearms without a license, and possession of ammunition. The accused are Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa, and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli.

Colonel Lambertus Steyn, the State’s fourth witness, testified that he discovered two phone call records to one of Kelly Khumalo’s cellphones from a number linked to accused number five, Fisokuhle Ntuli. The calls were made on 2 August 2014 and 15 October 2014.

Steyn, a data analyst and investigation officer at the South African Police Services (SAPS) Cold Case Unit, focused on cellphone data records of people who were with Meyiwa on the night he was killed. He also established contact between suspects Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli, disputing their claims that they had not known each other.

Sim-Swap on Meyiwa’s Phone

The court learned that Meyiwa’s SIM card was swapped a day after the incident, and the new SIM card was used in former Kaizer Chiefs footballer David Mathebula’s handset. Steyn found eight calls between David Mathebula’s phone and Kelly Khumalo, but he could not determine the caller’s identity as they were all “call forwards,” meaning they were not picked up due to the phone being off or having no signal.

Shocking Revelation About Accused Number 3

Another revelation presented by Steyn was that accused number 3, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, had dreadlocks at one stage. He found photos of Mncube sporting dreadlocks while analyzing data from Mncube’s phone after he was arrested for an unrelated case in Cleveland in November 2014. The most recent photo was taken the day before Meyiwa’s murder.
