Serial Rapist Ramoadi Minyuku Jailed to 165 Years Plus 5 Life Sentences
Serial rapist Ramoadi William Minyuku has been sentenced to five life sentences plus 165 years.
The 42-year-old was convicted on 26 counts, including rape, kidnapping, and housebreaking, receiving an additional 165 years that will run concurrently with his life terms.

A Reign of Terror Begins
According to IOL, police investigations reveal that Minyuku’s pattern of violence started in November 2014, when he broke into a home and raped a 12-year-old girl. His reign of terror did not stop there. Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, a police spokesperson, detailed how the predator repeatedly targeted the same child years later.
“Between May and June 2016, the accused continued to threaten the same victim with a knife and raped her on separate occasions, targeting her when she was sent to the shops. The rapes took place at an abandoned house,” said Mashaba.
Another victim, a 17-year-old girl, was assaulted with beer bottles before being dragged into bushes and raped multiple times.
From Unknown Suspect to Convicted Criminal
For years, the perpetrator was only known as an “unknown suspect,” with the cases casting a shadow over the Waterberg District. The breakthrough came in 2024 when the Provincial Serial and Electronic Crime Investigation Unit (SECI) took over the investigation.
Sergeant Mokgaetsi Predict Sema was instrumental in cracking the case, using DNA evidence to finally identify, track down, and arrest Minyuku.
A Permanent Removal from Society
The court found Minyuku guilty on 26 separate counts, including rape, kidnapping, and housebreaking with intent to rape. Sentences for the individual counts ranged from 5 to 15 years, culminating in five life sentences.
“The court imposed 26 separate counts… Most sentences will run concurrently, making the effective sentence life imprisonment,” said Brigadier Mashaba. Minyuku was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
Having remained in custody throughout the trial, he will now begin his life term.
