Shauwn Mkhize’s Royal AM has officially been expelled from the Premier Soccer League (PSL). This follows a decisive vote by the league’s Board of Governors during a meeting held in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The primary cause behind the PSL’s drastic decision is the club’s ongoing financial troubles. According to Kaya959, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) recently placed Royal AM under curatorship after escalating a tax dispute involving a reported R40 million debt.
Owner Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize has been at the centre of the dispute. The mounting financial strain led to missed fixtures and widespread uncertainty around the club’s operations, prompting the league to take action.
PSL Season Reshuffled as Royal AM’s Results Nullified
With Royal AM expelled, all of their match results for the current season have been nullified. This has led to significant changes in the league standings and fixtures.
The league will now proceed with 15 teams. The club that previously occupied 15th position will now participate in the promotion/relegation play-offs, altering the landscape of the season entirely.
