Sihle Ndaba Joins Gomora As Ncebakazi Manzi
Sihle Ndaba, a former Uzalo actress is now part of the cast of the hit drama series, Gomora. Sihle Ndaba plays the character of Business Studies teacher, Ncebakazi Manzi at Gomora High School.
Mzansi Magic confirmed the actress character on Gomora saying:
“Manzi is a passionate and dedicated teacher who cares for her learners and is excellent at her job. She dresses professionally, but has a naughty side. Manzi knows she’s hot, she lowkey enjoys the attention and knows how to use it to her advantage.”
Manzi will also be a family friend of the Dlaminis’ and is on familiar terms with Melusi. Teddy will be one of her students and she’ll face the dilemma of having a student expressing interest in her. Sihle Ndaba is not new at playing dynamic characters on TV.
Sihle Ndaba once revealed to Times Live that she was on her way to New York, when the announcement of her departure from Uzalo was made so she missed the reactions to the news
“I missed the hype because the press release was (sent out) two days before and I was in the air. I knew it was coming so it wasn’t a surprise. It wasn’t like I found out in the papers that I was no longer going to be part of the show,” she said.
She however stated that she would miss this role of Smangele.
When they told me, I was like: ‘Ahhh. I am going to miss this character. I am going to miss telling Smangele’s story because it was very close to me. I hope and believe that it has done what it was meant to do”
Sihle Ndaba is best known as Smangele on SABC 1 soapie Uzalo. She got the role of Smangele Maphumulo on Uzalo in 2015. Her amazing acting skills saw her winning the Sabela Award for Best Supporting Actress at the Durban Film Festival in 2018
She has appeared on several soapies and dramas including on Mzansi Magic’s Inkaba and SABC 1’s Room 8. After leaving Uzalo in 2018, she landed a role as Sbahle Xulu on Mzansi Magic telenovela The Herd. She also landed a role as Cebisile Mkhize on Mzansi Magic’s Isibaya.
She also contested in the 8th season of South Africa’s Mnet Idols.
