Zimbabwean football coach Simbarashe Gondo has landed another coaching opportunity in South Africa.
Gondo has taken charge of Baroka FC ahead of the club’s new ABC Motsepe League campaign.
The appointment gives the Zimbabwean tactician another chance to build his reputation across the border.
Baroka confirmed Gondo’s arrival as they prepare for another competitive season in Limpopo.
The club introduced him as “Coach Simba” while welcoming him to his new position.
“Baroka FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Simbarashe ‘Coach Simba’ Gondo as our new Head Coach,” the club said.
“Let’s give him the warmest Mošate welcome as we build the next chapter together.”
A fresh challenge in Limpopo
Gondo arrives at Baroka after previously leading fellow ABC Motsepe League club Ngwaabe City Motors.
His latest move keeps him within South Africa’s competitive third tier.
However, Baroka presents a fresh challenge for the Zimbabwean coach.
The club carries considerable history after previously competing in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League.
Baroka now compete in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League and want to progress through the football pyramid.
Therefore, Gondo faces an important assignment from the beginning of his tenure.
Gondo targets another step forward
The new Baroka boss will now focus on preparing his squad for the upcoming campaign.
He must also establish his coaching philosophy while delivering results on the pitch.
Meanwhile, the appointment strengthens the growing presence of Zimbabwean coaches within South African football.
Gondo’s move could provide another platform for him to showcase his coaching abilities.
His previous experience at Ngwaabe City Motors should also help him settle quickly.
Ultimately, his success will depend on how Baroka performs throughout the new season.
For Gondo, the appointment represents another significant opportunity to advance his coaching career in South Africa.
