Sonia Mbele Speaks Out After Being Accused of Bewitching Leslie Sedibe
South African actress Sonia Mbele has denied allegations that she used muthi to influence former South African Football Association (Safa) CEO Advocate Leslie Sedibe amid reported turmoil in his marriage.
The claims were allegedly made by Sedibe’s estranged wife, Faith Nevhutalu, during arguments before the breakdown of their relationship, according to a close source close who spoke to the DailySun.

Marriage Breakdown and Affair Allegations
The source claims Sedibe and Nevhutalu are now separated and living in different bedrooms at their Johannesburg home.
In 2022, Sedibe allegedly informed his wife that he planned to attend the funeral of an aunt related to his son. Nevhutalu reportedly objected, accusing him of having an affair with his son’s mother. Sedibe is said to have cancelled his plans.
He later travelled to Bolobedu, Limpopo, to attend a friend’s mother’s funeral. The source alleges that Nevhutalu again accused him of infidelity, this time claiming he was involved with another woman in Limpopo.
Alleged Assault and Suicide Attempt
In February 2023, Sedibe allegedly told his wife he intended to attend a tombstone unveiling in Bolobedu. When he refused to allow her to accompany him, an argument reportedly broke out, during which she is said to have assaulted him.
While Sedibe was in Limpopo, he allegedly received a call informing him that Nevhutalu had attempted suicide by overdosing on pills. He reportedly asked his sons to take her to a private hospital in Johannesburg, where she was admitted.
The source further claimed that Sedibe later found a suicide note in which Nevhutalu blamed him for her actions. The note allegedly mentioned a woman named Molatela and Sonia, suggesting that Mbele was bewitching him.
Sonia Speaks Out
Responding, Sonia Mbele denied using muthi or bewitching her ex-husband Sedibe. She said she does not see Sedibe and that they communicate only via text message.
The actress added that she is focused on her church commitments, Bible studies and ministry work.
“Leslie does not enter my house. When we speak, we text each other. Unless I sent bewitchment via text. I don’t speak to them, I go to church, I do Bible studies. Unless I bewitch him using the name of Jesus Christ,” she said.
