South Africans Express Outrage After Zimbabwean Man is Busted Attempting to Smuggle over 2,000 Explosives
South Africans are breathing fire on social media after it emerged that a Zimbabwean man was arrested at the border post attempting to cross to Mzansi with explosives.
Border Bust: Explosives Discovered During Routine Inspection
A 28-year-old Zimbabwean man was arrested at the Beitbridge Border Post on the morning of Friday, 16 May, after he was caught attempting to smuggle a massive cache of illegal explosives into South Africa.
According to authorities, the arrest was made around 06h30 during a routine vehicle inspection. A sniffer dog deployed by border officials raised the alarm after detecting suspicious items inside red 50kg polyester bags loaded on a trailer hitched to a white Toyota Quantum.

Police Discover Massive Explosives Cache
Members of the Musina Explosives Unit were called to the scene and, upon opening the bags, made a startling discovery. The haul included:

2,505 Superpower units

90 blasting cartridges

100 Carmex connector capped fuses
The suspect has since been charged under South Africa’s Explosives Act and is expected to appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 19 May.
