Tragically, Mfanafuthi Kunene allegedly strangled her to death and buried her in a shallow grave in his yard at Amaotana, Inanda.
Police later discovered her body, which showed signs of strangulation, buried in the shallow grave.
Alleged Killer Appears in Court, Case Postponed to February
Mfanafuthi Kunene, the alleged killer of Ayabonga Mjilo, has been arrested and appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today.
He faces charges of murder and kidnapping and informed the court of his intention to apply for legal aid.
The matter has been postponed to 26 February, and Kunene will remain in custody until then.
