AKA has posted a picture of his contract ahead of a boxing match which is scheduled to commence in just a few months time against rival, Cassper Nyovest.

“It’s amazing how people can suddenly turn into tough guys when history and experience tells us otherwise. The time for talk is nearly over,” captioned AKA, after posting the contract.

The fight was supposed to have commenced last year but due to some irregularities from both parties it had to be postponed to this year.

AKA and Nyovest who are amongst Africa’s biggest hip-hop artists have been at each other’s throats and have often thrown shades at each other in public including diss tracks.

In 2015, both artists released diss tracks of each other with AKA starting with the diss in his single titled Composure and Nyovest retaliating with Dust2Dust.

Regardless of their rivalry, the two have had successful music and business careers which has since made them formidable forces in the music scene.

Both artists charge not less than R150 000 in booking fees and have since accrued multi-million Rand endorsement deals.
Prior to the duo’s entrance in the hip-hop scene, artists in the sector did not earn much and were not that visible. For many, it was either venturing into Kwaito or doing House music which proved to be lucrative during that time.

Moreover, it was very difficult for any upcoming hip-hop artist to venture into the industry alone without being signed to a major recording label but now many artists are now able to manoeuvre on their own.
Both artists released projects last year with Nyovest releasing his fourth studio album titled Any Minute Now (A.M.N) and AKA releasing an EP titled Bhovamania which are seemingly sitting well with music revellers.
