Timeline of the Disappearance

The missing officers – identified as Constables Linda Cebekhulu (24), Keamogetswe Buys (30), and Boipelo Senoge (20) – were last accounted for on April 23 at an Engen fuel station adjacent to the Grasmere toll plaza. Preliminary reports suggest the trio may have fallen victim to a hijacking and abduction.

The young constables were traveling in a white Volkswagen Polo (license plate JCL 401 FS) from Bloemfontein to their new assignment in Limpopo when communication ceased. Investigators note both the vehicle’s tracking system and the officers’ mobile devices became inactive shortly after their last verified location.

Ongoing Investigation Efforts

Search teams are combing the Hennops River area for any forensic evidence that might shed light on the officers’ fate. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of locating additional victims as the search continues.

SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said the police are still at the scene at the Hennops River in Centurion to collect evidence to help with the probe.

“We have three bodies so far whose identities are yet to be confirmed.

“We’re pursuing all investigative avenues to bring clarity to this tragic situation,” Brigadier Mathe emphasized, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.

Police sources indicate the officers were off-duty during their ill-fated journey to their new posting. The South African Police Service has mobilized specialized units to assist with the complex investigation.
