Father Opens Up About His Son’s Troubled Relationship
Sibusiso’s father spoke exclusively to Newzroom Afrika, revealing the heartbreak and distress the family has endured since the events unfolded. Struggling to come to terms with the tragedy, he admitted that the family had been blindsided by his son’s actions, particularly the chilling video posted online.

He confirmed that the woman killed by Sibusiso was his wife, as lobola (bride price) had been paid, and the father himself had participated in the negotiations. Reflecting on their turbulent relationship, he explained,
“When their fights began escalating, my son asked his mother and me to speak with her family. Unfortunately, she eventually left him right in front of us. After that, things spiraled into a series of terrifying fights.”
A Son’s Hidden Pain
The father described his son as a quiet and reserved individual who often bottled up his emotions. When Sibusiso finally opened up about his struggles, he confessed that the child born during their relationship was not biologically his. Despite these revelations, Sibusiso admitted to keeping the issues a secret out of love for his wife.

According to Colonel Robert Netshiunda, spokesperson for the KwaZulu-Natal SAPS,
“Reports indicate that the suspect picked up the woman, who was his wife, from her home. It is suspected that a domestic dispute ensued, escalating into her tragic murder.”
