Three people have been arrested in Argentina for their connection to British singer Liam Payne’s tragic death last month.

Last month, British singer and former One Direction member Liam Payne tragically passed away after falling from a balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires. His death sent shockwaves around the world, raising many questions about the events leading up to the incident.

Details of the Investigation

Authorities in Argentina confirmed on Thursday that three individuals have been charged in connection with Payne’s death. A statement from the prosecutor’s office revealed that Payne had been found with traces of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescribed antidepressant in his system. These findings were noted in an autopsy conducted shortly after his death.

On the day of his passing, a hotel staff member made an emergency call, reporting that Payne had been behaving erratically, potentially influenced by substances, and acting aggressively. This call, placed to emergency services, brought police to the scene but unfortunately did not prevent the tragic incident.

Over the past few weeks, Payne’s father, Geoff, has been seen at the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, accompanied by longtime One Direction security team member Paul Higgins. Payne’s body was formally returned to his father last weekend, and arrangements were made to transport him back to England for a private family ceremony.

Individuals Charged in Connection with Payne’s Death

The Argentine authorities identified three individuals as potentially involved in circumstances leading to Payne’s tragic fall. These include an alleged drug supplier, a hotel staff member reportedly seen providing Payne with cocaine during his stay, and a third person who was close to Payne. This third individual is accused of “abandonment of a person leading to death.”
