Discovery of the Bodies

According to Kaya959, the three men were reported missing earlier that same day. Relatives told authorities the men had said they were heading to the game reserve but never returned.

Colonel Donald Mdhluli, a police spokesperson, said officers accompanied the complainants to the reserve, where officials noted that people often gained entry without authorisation.

Members went to check the area where they were last seen and noticed three bodies floating in the Nkomazi River. The SAPS Search and Rescue team, along with divers, were summoned to retrieve the bodies,” Mdhluli confirmed.

No Visible Injuries

The bodies showed no visible injuries. Police have opened an inquest to determine the cause of death. A post-mortem examination will be conducted, and the identities of the deceased will be released once their families have been notified.

Previous Incidents at the Reserve

Colonel Mdhluli noted that about a week prior, individuals had been spotted inside the reserve but fled when approached by security. Authorities are investigating whether these incidents are linked.

So far, police have confirmed that all three men were originally from Zimbabwe, and the investigation is ongoing.
