Titan Submersible’s Final Hours: Last Messages Before Tragic Implosion Revealed and First Picture of Wreckage Released

New details have emerged about the final moments aboard the Titan submersible, which tragically imploded during a deep-sea expedition to the Titanic wreck in June 2023.

In one of the last messages sent before the fatal incident, the crew reassured the surface team that all was well before the Titan sub imploded.

Along with this revelation, the first images of the wreckage were shown at a public hearing, offering a glimpse of the sub’s tail cone lying on the ocean floor. These details have shed light on the series of events leading to the catastrophe, which claimed the lives of all five people on board.

Fatal Dive Ends in Catastrophic Implosion

The Titan submersible, which was carrying five individuals to explore the wreckage of the Titanic, imploded during its descent, killing all aboard. The victims included British explorer Hamish Harding, British Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, and French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet.

The disaster unfolded on June 18, 2023, when the submersible lost contact with its mother ship, the Polar Prince, less than two hours into its dive. Following the loss of communication, a search mission involving four governments was launched. Unfortunately, the submersible never resurfaced.

Final Communications and Inquiry

According to The Guardian, during the hearing, officials presented text communications exchanged between the Titan and the Polar Prince leading up to the implosion. At 09:17 local time, the Titan began its descent, and an hour into the dive, the message “all good here” was sent.

However, the last recorded message from the submersible came at 10:47, confirming that two weights had been dropped. After that, communication was lost.
