TV Presenter Jub Jub Turns To God Following Arrest
Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye has reacted following his arrest at the Brixton police station on Thursday, 27 July, on charges of r*pe, attempted murder, and assault.
The Uyajola 9/9 presenter took to his Instagram after his court appearance to post Bible verses taken from Psalms 121 and 120.
In his caption, he shared another verse where he seemingly dismissed everything as “lies and scheming”. He also wrote in his home language, Setswana, that he is a child of the ancestors.
“No weapon, lies, or scheming formed against me shall prosper. Ke ngwana badimo. Batloung le bataung. God knows my heart and the truth, which shall prevail,” he wrote with the hashtag, In God we trust.

ARREST AND BAIL
On Thursday, the Ndikhokhele hitmaker appeared at the Johannesburg magistrate’s court where he was granted R10 000 bail.
According to Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Phindi Mjonondwane, four complainants brought charges against the rapper.
The offences were allegedly committed between 2006 and 2010.
“As the NPA, we are duty-bound to take action as soon as we receive information. One of the complainants registered the case in February 2022, the docket was brought to the NPA as a decision docket, and instruction was given by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to authorize a warrant for his arrest, and he handed himself over yesterday and appeared today,” Phindi Mjonondwane stated.
His lawyer, Lawrence Baloyi, said the musician is shocked and has lost faith in the justice system.
“He’s devastated and he is at the time where he doesn’t understand what these charges are all about and why they crop up now. So, he is so disappointed with the justice system and how things are being done. It seems like men are given so much power who can bring down any man who is coming up and that becomes unfair to our justice system,” the SABC quoted Baloyi as saying.
The matter will return to court on 24 August.

One of the people who opened a case against the musician at the Brixton police station in February last year is actress Amanda du-Pont – SowetanLIVE reported at the time.
The Skeem Saam actress accused him of r*ping her multiple times for two years while they were romantically involved.
Amanda’s allegations came after the hip hop artist’s interview with MacG on Podcast and Chill in December 2021 where he discussed their relationship.
Following her video, he issued a public apology on his Instagram page but denied r*ping the media personality.
“It was inappropriate for me to discuss the intimate details of my relationship with Ms. Du-Pont in public. I deeply regret the incident. I wish to apologize unreservedly to Amanda for the humiliation and hurt I caused her,” he wrote.
