Two men and a 6-year-old were shot by a security guard outside the Eastwood Tavern in Pretoria. The altercation reportedly escalated following a dispute about loud music.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that supporters were playing loud music when the security guard, who was reportedly armed with a rifle, approached and demanded they turn it down. A confrontation ensued, which quickly escalated into violence.

Escalation: Shots Fired
Lt-Col Masondo reported that the security guard initially used pepper spray on some of the individuals during the dispute. When tensions flared further, the guard allegedly fired multiple shots.
As a result, three individuals sustained injuries: A 6-year-old child, who was seated inside one of the vehicles, suffered a gunshot wound to the left arm, One adult male was shot in the right thigh and The second male sustained a wound to his right leg.
All three victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they received medical treatment for their injuries.

Police Respond and Arrest Suspect
Following the shooting, law enforcement quickly arrived at the scene. The security guard was apprehended and taken into custody. Authorities have since confirmed that the suspect has been charged with attempted murder.
The accused is expected to make his first court appearance at the Pretoria Central Magistrate’s Court in the coming days.
