Social media is buzzing over a video in which KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) police ambushed criminals after a hot chase in Durban.
The incident happened under the dumbstruck stare of community members.

In the video that went viral online, KZN police chased a group of alleged criminals who were in a taxi.
The crew successfully shook off the police and went into one neighbourhood. However, the police remained on their heels.
The suspected criminals then turned into one street; unfortunately, it turned out to be a dead-end street.

The driver of the Quantum hastily made a U-turn so he could flee before the cops caught up with them. However, before reaching the end of the street, two South African Police Service (SAPS) vehicles screeched to a halt in front of him and blocked the way.
The police swiftly jumped out of the vehicle, some with civilian clothes. They took out their guns and pointed at the criminals’ van.

Subdued, the men in the taxi walked out of the vehicle with their hands in the air. The police officers inched closer and made the criminals lie to the ground, even dragging and throwing one.
Members of the community were standing by their fences, watching the whole drama.
