Woman Charged with Rape After Assaulting 13-Year-Old Teenage Boy at Limpopo Church Shelter
A 24-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with rape after she allegedly assaulted a 13-year-old boy at a local church-run shelter.
The suspect, whose name is withheld by authorities, was taken into custody by specialized detectives on Friday.

Shocking Details of the Assault
According to IOL, the incident,which occurred last week, unfolded when the woman allegedly called the victim over as he walked past a crèche on the shelter’s grounds.
According to Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the Provincial Police spokesperson, the boy was met with a disturbing scene.
“He found the woman naked and lying on the ground. She then proceeded to inappropriately touch him before raping him in an area near a dustbin site within the shelter premises,” stated Colonel Ledwaba
Witness Report Triggers Swift Police Action
The attack was not committed in secret.A fellow resident of the shelter reportedly witnessed the assault while taking out trash and immediately alerted the facility’s caretaker. The police were notified shortly thereafter, leading to a rapid investigation and the arrest of the suspect by members of the Musina Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit.
Court Proceedings and Ongoing
Investigation The accused made her initial appearance before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Monday.The case was adjourned until Tuesday to allow for a probation report and further police investigation. The legal process is ongoing.
This case emerges amidst a troubling focus on crimes against children in the province. In a separate incident, an 18-year-old man and his mother appeared in the Letsitele Magistrate’s Court on Monday for the rape of a nine-year-old girl and the failure to report the crime, respectively.
