Snikiwe Sni Mhlongo, a well-known YouTuber and social media influencer, has broken her silence regarding her recent arrest. The influencer addressed the public and refuted various claims made in the media following her detainment by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) on November 7, 2024, in the Fourways area.
Mhlongo Denounces Media Misinformation
In her detailed statement, Mhlongo clarified the specifics of her detainment, countering the narratives presented in some publications. Reports claimed she was caught driving at 180 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. Mhlongo categorically denied these allegations, labelling them false and baseless.

Contrary to claims that she resisted arrest by invoking her celebrity status, Mhlongo stated that this accusation is entirely untrue. Some outlets alleged she was tested for alcohol consumption and charged with driving under the influence. Mhlongo firmly denied these claims, emphasizing that she does not consume alcohol.
The false reports have caused significant reputational harm and led to relentless cyberbullying over the past several days
Mhlongo also pointed out the dangers of media sensationalism and its impact on public perception.
