At the time when management became aware of these practices, an immediate investigation was conducted which resulted in the immediate halting of such as well as the dismissal of security personnel responsible for the perpetration thereof.

Reforming Security Operations

Additionally, the management has reiterated its commitment to lawful practices, requiring staff to cooperate with the South African Police Service (SAPS) when handling incidents of theft or misconduct.
Legal Action Against Former Employee
As part of their broader response, Zanzou management has initiated legal proceedings against a former security staff member, identified as Mr Herve. They allege that Herve attempted to blackmail the business by threatening to leak the videos unless his financial demands were met.
“Mr. Herve attempted to extort the nightclub by leveraging these videos to manipulate management into meeting his demands. Contrary to misinformation circulating online, these incidents are unrelated to customers failing to settle their bills.”

Authorities Investigate Criminal Allegations
The seriousness of the allegations has prompted direct intervention from South African law enforcement. The National Commissioner of SAPS, General Fannie Masemola, has instructed Gauteng’s Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni, to pursue those responsible for the violent incidents.
The SAPS is currently investigating multiple charges, including assault, grievous bodily harm, kidnapping, and criminal injury. Authorities have urged victims to come forward and file official complaints at their nearest police stations, ensuring their cases are properly addressed.
