Zimbabweans Scream In Protest After US Gospel Star Travis Greene Visits Nation’s Oldest & Poorest Suburb
American singer Travis Greene was recently in Zimbabwe for his maiden show.
The multi-award-winning gospel singer pulled an impressive performance when he performed live at a concert titled ‘The Shift’ at the Celebration Centre over the weekend.
Whilst in Zimbabwe, he also went on a tour of Mbare. Mbare is a high-density residential area in Harare, Zimbabwe. It is characterised by its visibly dilapidated buildings, overcrowded houses and poor sanitation.
Taking to Instagram, Travis Greene shared a video of himself as he went on the tour. Captioning the video, he wrote;
“One of my favourite things to do when I’m in a new country is to learn about the CULTURE! It was so humbling to see and hear the heart of Zimbabwe today!! 🇿🇼❤️
“It not only gave fresh perspective but also inspiration and drive to bring back home to the states!!.”

Zimbabweans are however not too pleased with show organizers who decided to take Travis Greene on tour to Mbare. Zimbabweans questioned why they opted to take Travis Greene to Mbare out of all the beautiful places in Harare and Zimbabwe.
Social media users argued that they should have at least taken him to Victoria Falls so that he can see how beautiful Zimbabwe is.
