Zodwa WaBantu Signs Contract With Sony Music
Dancer and business woman Zodwa Wabantu is the master of surprises.
A few days ago, she announced that she is going back to school and the lattest announcement is she has signed a deal with Sony Music.
Messages of congratulations flooded her comments section on social media with people wishing her well in her new venture.
Zodwa WaBantu, however got called on her bluff for two reasons: number one, the entertainer posted a video of herself signing a contract, which according to her is a recording contract with SONY Music. The papers had the words ‘Draft’ written in bold, which might indicate that it is not the actual contract.
When she got called out for faking a recording contract by a follower, Zodwa clapped back saying she has the original contract and that she does not need to prove to anybody,
“I have the Original Copy Fool. A draft means there was a meeting between the parties then you agree to disagree and in this case we are 5, all needed signatures were needed before the actual contract. Go find something to do let me Flex on my Money. I have the Original Copy.”
Secondly, TNS Music has dedicated a song to Zodwa and the track ‘Zodwa Wabantu’ got released today. The song is undoubtedly a banger, not that anybody expected less from the producer.
TNS is signed under SONY Music so it only makes sense for her to be signing a contract with the company, for business purposes.
Amid all the excitement, Zodwa probably took it a bit too far when she dissed existing artists who are currently in tricky situations with their labels over masters and royalties.
“You artists always get robbed off your masters and royalties, you do not even have masters to your own song. Well, us artists who have brains,” she jokingly said.
Pearl Thusi also recently announced that apart from acting, modelling and presenting, she will be making music as well. Pearl is set to feature on her first single as a vocalist.
