Enhle Mbali Speaks Out on Painful Split from Black Coffee
Award-winning actress and fashion designer Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa has spoken candidly about her marriage and eventual divorce from internationally acclaimed DJ Black Coffee.
“I Never Cheated — Not Once”
In a heartfelt interview with Relebogile Mabotja on 702 earlier this week, Enhle reflected on her years-long marriage to Black Coffee, describing the emotional burden she carried before choosing to walk away in 2019.
“I’m proud of how I handled my marriage,” she said. “I never cheated, not once, until the day I decided to leave — because I could no longer take the punishment to myself.”
The couple, who share two children together, faced intense public scrutiny during their split. Enhle has often chosen to remain silent, but in the interview, she revealed what pushed her to her breaking point.

“You’re Going to Kill Me”
Enhle disclosed that she decided to leave the marriage after discovering that Black Coffee had fathered two children with two different women during their union.
“Once there were two children, from two different women, I said, ‘You don’t love me. In fact, you’re going to kill me.’ I have two kids. So I’m going to run — and I did.”
Healing and Forgiveness
Despite the pain and betrayal, Enhle said she has been working on herself and learning to forgive — both her former partner and herself.
“I lost a lot of respect for my partner. I forgave him for the apologies I never got. I forgave myself for forgetting my inner child — the 20-year-old, the 21-year-old, the 28-year-old,” she shared.
She added that rediscovering her dreams has helped her move forward:
“I remember who they are now, and we’re moving together so beautifully.”
“Please Don’t Take Sides”- Enhle Mbali
Enhle asked the public not to take sides and instead see both herself and Black Coffee as separate individuals with immense talent.
“I don’t want people to take sides. I love them — obviously. I might not have a lot of respect for Nkosinathi Maphumulo, but Black Coffee — that man is talented. He’s extremely talented. And Enhle Mbali is out-of-this-world talented. So I want people to be able to separate the two.”
