Parker, who recently transitioned into a coaching role at TS Galaxy’s DStv Diski Challenge team, has been adjusting to life off the field since an injury ended his professional football career.

The incident is reported to have happened just a month before Parker’s retirement in October 2023. He suffered a career-ending injury during a Carling Knockout Cup match against Mamelodi Sundowns on 18 October, when a tackle from Bongani Zungu resulted in a broken shin.

The former Bafana Bafana forward, known as a fan favorite during his playing days, has quickly shifted to a leadership role within South African football. Despite his recent setback, Parker remains focused on his role as TS Galaxy’s head coach. He has not yet made any public comments regarding the theft incident.

Parker is married to Wendy Parker, and the couple shares two children. While Parker’s focus now rests on developing young talent, the incident has raised concerns about safety and crime in South Africa.

At the time of publication, Parker could not be reached for comment on the robbery.
