The charges stem from an incident on November 10, when the mother allegedly sold her son, Kutlwano, to unidentified individuals. Three days later, on November 13, she reportedly filed a false police report, claiming that her son had been kidnapped by three men driving a silver-grey Polo in Boipatong, Gauteng.

“The mother claimed her son was abducted, but police investigations revealed that she had fabricated the story,” said Lumka Mahanjana, spokesperson for the Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
