House Of Zwide Actress Nefisa Mkhabela Built Her Mother A House At 19 Years
The House of Zwide actress, Nefisa Mkhabela, who portrays the character of Onalerona Molapo in the popular e.tv telenovela, recently shared her inspiring journey on DJ Sbu’s YouTube channel, Hustlers’ Corner. During the interview, she revealed how she managed to build a house for her mother at the age of 19.
An Early Accomplishment
Mkhabela, who is currently 21 years old, bought her first car at the age of 20 and embarked on the ambitious task of building her mother a house when she was just 19. She dedicated her salary to this project and decided to construct the house from scratch.
According to The Citizen, Mkhabela’s acting career began when she was still in high school. After receiving a call from her agent, she discovered that Fergusons Films wanted to cast her in one of their shows. Her debut role came in the drama series “Unmarried” in 2018, where she played the character Mbali. She reprised the role in the show’s second season in 2020.
Reflecting on her early experiences, Mkhabela admits that she was naive and unaware of the intricacies of the industry. However, she cherishes the opportunity to work with legendary actors and describes herself as blessed to have started her acting journey while in high school.
Onalerona Molapo in ‘House of Zwide’
In the hit series “House of Zwide,” Mkhabela portrays the character of Onalerona Molapo. Onalerona was raised by Isaac Molapo (played by Jeffrey Sekele), who actually abducted her from her biological father, Funani Zwide (portrayed by Vusi Kunene).
Onalerona, a township girl with aspirations of becoming a fashion designer, secures an internship at House of Zwide. Little does she know that the owner of the fashion house is her biological father, who is not only a wealthy businessman but also a talented fashion designer.
The plot takes a dramatic turn when Onalerona discovers that Isaac, the man who raised her, was responsible for the murder of her biological mother. Furthermore, Isaac had been working closely with Faith Zwide (played by Winnie Ntshaba), the wife of Onalerona’s biological father.
Joining the Cast of ‘House of Zwide’
The addition of Nefisa Mkhabela to the cast of “House of Zwide” has garnered significant attention. As a rising star, Mkhabela’s talent and portrayal of Onalerona Molapo have captivated viewers. She brings depth and emotion to her character, contributing to the show’s popularity.
