A man recently appeared in court after he cut off his brother’s arm after finding him touching his wife’s bum.
The man identified as Amos Malema appeared before the North West magistrates court charged with assault to cause grievous bodily harm. Initially he had been charged with attempted murder. It is the state’s case that on the tragic day, Mr Malema went home early from work and found his wife and found his wife and brother getting cosy in the bedroom. The incensed man barged into the room armed with a machete and in fury, hacked off his brother’s hand.
The brother, who is believed to be a pastor, says he fainted soon after that and woke up in hospital. It was not ascertained as to how he got to the hospital. As for the wife, reports suggest that she managed to escape.
“I know I did wrong, but I believe we should have spoken about it without violence. I love her” the brother said.
Amos also made a plea to people to stop linking him to Julius Malema. “We are not related and I do not know Julius” he said.
The matter was postponed to next month.
