North View High School Principal Shot Six Times
In a separate incident that shocked the province, an acting principal at North View High School in Johannesburg was shot six times in his office on Tuesday morning. According to Chiloane, two armed men entered the school under the pretext of delivering a quotation for tree-felling services.
“The men then reportedly entered the acting principal’s office and suddenly opened fire at him, hitting him six times before fleeing the scene,” Chiloane stated.
The principal was rushed to a medical facility, where he remains in critical condition in the ICU.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting. Chiloane condemned the attack, describing it as a “brazen act of violence and lawlessness” that undermines the sanctity of educational institutions.
“We are working closely with law enforcement to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book,” he said.
