A 31-year-old woman, the biological mother, and her 26-year-old boyfriend have been taken into custody for the suspected murder of a 4-year-old child. The tragic event allegedly occurred after the child accidentally broke a plasma TV while playing at home.
The incident, which took place last year, led to the couple allegedly burying the boy in a shallow grave located in the bushes on the outskirts of Boitekong, near Rustenburg in North West.
Community Concerns and Investigation
Following the incident, residents of Extension 4 grew suspicious when the child was no longer seen in the neighbourhood. According to reports, the boy was last seen by neighbours in July 2023. When questioned, the mother reportedly fabricated stories to explain the child’s absence. Every time, she had different stories to tell when asked about her son.

As suspicions grew, the concerned community decided to involve their local Councillor. Under pressure, the mother allegedly confessed to the murder, implicated her boyfriend and revealed the location of the shallow grave where the child was buried. It was discovered that her child had been dead for almost a year now, and the couple did not report the matter.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Both the mother and her boyfriend have since been arrested. Authorities are now conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death and the events that followed.
