Speaking to SABC News on behalf of the family, Adrian Lackay reassured the public that Gordhan’s health is being closely monitored, but requested privacy during this challenging time.

“His condition has been described as stable and he is receiving the best medical care. At the moment the family is at his side and appeals to the public and media for space, privacy to be there and support him,” Adrian Lackay said.

He also mentioned that the family will provide updates on Gordhan’s health whenever necessary.
