Three teenagers had their study session cut shot after they were fatally shot by a man in the Eastern Cape a few days ago.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu, the provincial police spokesperson, shared that at approximately 10 pm, the homeowner heard gunshots emanating from the rear of her residence, where the teenagers were engaged in their studies.
“An injured victim sought refuge in her home, seeking assistance.”

According to Naidu, one victim succumbed to injuries on the scene, while the other two passed away in the hospital.
The surviving individual is currently receiving medical care in the hospital.
“The victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds.”
Suspect’s Motive Remains Unknown
Naidu mentioned that the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. She added that the deceased were students at Buchule Senior Secondary School and Mzomhle Senior Secondary School in Mdantsane.
Remarkably, within less than 24 hours of the tragic incident, law enforcement successfully apprehended the suspect. The individual made an appearance in the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday. He is facing three counts of murder and one charge of attempted murder.

Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene, the provincial commissioner, expressed her condolences to the grieving family of the deceased.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families. The South African Police Service (SAPS) vehemently condemns such senseless acts of violence, especially against our youth, who have promising futures. Our investigation is ongoing, and we are committed to ensuring that justice is served for the victims and their families.”
