SAPS Launches Intensive Manhunt

According to IOL, the South African Police Service (SAPS) has since launched a full-scale manhunt for the suspects.

National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola instructed Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni to deploy maximum resources to track down the killers and recover the stolen firearms.

Mthombeni visited the crime scene on Friday night and has assembled a specialised investigative team — including experienced detectives and tactical units — to pursue the suspects.

Masemola Condemns Rising Attacks on Officers

General Masemola expressed alarm over continued attacks on law enforcement, noting that six police officers were killed in the line of duty between April and September 2025.

We are doing everything possible to ensure members are operationally ready, equipped and trained,” he said.

“To all our law enforcement officers: don’t die with the resources we have given you. Always be vigilant.”

Public Urged to Come Forward

SAPS has appealed to anyone with information about the suspects to contact authorities as the investigation intensifies.
