Kaizer Chiefs Goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune’s Marriage On The Rocks
It appears Itumeleng Khune and his new wife Sphelele Makhunga’s marriage has hit a snag after reports that the latter has allegedly packed her bags and left him. The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper and his wife are no longer together according to sources close to the couple.
According to some sources, Khune spent his first Christmas without his family. According to certain media outlets, the newlyweds separated three months as Sphelele packed her bags and went home to KwaZulu-Natal in November.
Though the couple denied they had gone their separate ways, sources say they are no longer together.
Makhunga responded to the rumours and said:
“Well I have never responded to any of yall’s sh*t and I will certainly not start now this year. Now go ahead and publish your bedtime stories.”
Khune also replied to the claims and said:
“You have a nerve neh. Go ahead and embarrass yourself with lies”.
The former football’s “It” couple stole the hearts of South Africans when Khune announced early last year that he was no longer single.
Close friends to the new mom say that she might return to the soccer star as they don’t really believe she’s done with him.
They said:
She’s just taking a break because she’s still young and just gave birth. A lot us know that she is trying to make it work and has been doing that for a long time. Even sometimes when she gets humiliated publicly with videos and pictures of women with Itu, she won’t just give up and make her haters happy. She wants to fight or her marriage.
In June last year, rumours of the couple splitting erupted after an unnamed woman who has since deleted her social media profile claimed to have been romantically involved with the Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper.
