Mzansi reacts to Moonchild’s female lover

Moonchild Sanelly has finally found love in Phatsoki. Phatsoki recently uploaded four cosy pictures on her Twitter wall of herself and Moonchild.

The four pictures had the caption, “☺️ I don’t usually play but my baby cute and I just thought y’all should know,” much to the reaction of Twitter users with some congratulating the pair and some wondering why Moonchild chose to be in relationship with a female.

Here are some of the things you need to know about Moonchild:

The artist’s stage name ‘Moonchild’, stems from her spiritual background, the name is a direct translation of ‘iNyanga’ meaning moon.

The Port Elizabeth born musician moved to Johannesburg with just twenty-four songs and has been in the industry for 12-years and has evolved with time, transitioning from poetry to Hip-hop, Jazz and now, her new found sound which she coined as ‘Future ghetto punk’ in 2007.

The fashionable artist who makes some of her clothes studied fashion design, and has admitted to once wanting to be a Psychologist.

Moonchild was raised in the spotlight since her late mother, who passed away when she went to fashion school put her on stage when she was just six months old.

The musician is also a mother to three daughters who she sees occasionally as they are based in Port Elizabeth with their father’s grandmother.

Moonchild is also a social activist, advocating a space for adults that allows them to freely exist, in a state of nudity without worrying about being harassed or violated,

“because what I have noticed in my research is that a lot of those spaces, neh? It’s old white couples, and I am sure there’s people like me who just wanna like go out, naked and not care about their body shape and not care about being violated.”
