South African Kwaito Star Mshoza Has Died
From the look of things, the year 2020 is far from over as the bad cloud continues to cover the nation.
According to the Daily Sun, the Mzansi Kwaito Star popularly known as Mshoza has passed on. The local publication added that the musician, real name Nomasonto Maswangayi died at a medical facility in Johannesburg this morning.
Mshoza was one of the remaining Kwaito legends in South Africa.
She died at the age of 37 after two-decade long music career she began only at the age of 10.
Reports have claimed that due to going under the knife a couple of times, that could have affected Mshoza’s health leading to her untimely death.
Mshoza had undergone surgical skin lightening procedure, nose job, lip and cheek surgery.
She did all these disregarding the criticism that came with it.
Mshoza leaves behind two kids, a daughter Pride Mnisi (10) and son, Junior Mnisi (8).
Twitter is already awash with condolence message from grieving friends ,followers & relatives.
One of her team members and longtime friend, Khanyi Mbau, confirmed that Mshoza died during the early hours of Thursday morning. Mbau said:
“The family is still busy writing a statement and have asked if you [media] could give them some time but they will release a statement.”
A member of her team also confirmed the news to be true and said Mshoza’s family would release an official statement shortly.
“It’s true that she’s gone, we also heard the news earlier this morning. Out of respect for the family, we all have to wait for a statement from them, you know how it is, we can’t disrespect them at a time like this.”
The star’s death comes as a shock to many of her industry mates and social media users who have taken to social media to remember the mother of two and kwaito veteran.
Mbau has taken to Instagram about the passing of the kwaito star.
