Sarcastic Response from Thuli

Responding to the claims with a touch of sarcasm, Thuli jokingly blamed her makeup team for making her look pregnant. She wrote, “I think my edges are making me look pregnant, guys, but don’t worry, I’m firing the whole team for this mess up ’cause I told them! Anyway, THANK YOU for the love, guys.”

Thuli also took to her Instagram Stories to sarcastically share a post about her manager being fired for allowing her to look pregnant in her first post since returning to social media.

DJ Maphorisa’s Assault Case Postponed

On 14 June, DJ Maphorisa appeared at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court for a gender-based violence (GBV) case against him. The popular Mnike hitmaker had previously been granted bail after his girlfriend, Thuli, accused him of physically assaulting her during an argument at her home in Sandton, Johannesburg.

According to Sunday World, Thuli alleged in her police statement that Maphorisa became aggressive, punching her on the chest and slapping her across the face. She further stated that he forcefully grabbed her neck and took her to the balcony.

Postponement of the Case

Although Thuli initially filed a withdrawal statement the day after Maphorisa’s arrest, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) required additional time to investigate the matter, resulting in the postponement of the case from 14 June to 5 July.

During the court proceedings, the case faced further delays as no state representatives were present.

Private Resolution

Prior to the court hearing, Thuli and Maphorisa released a joint statement expressing their desire to handle the matter privately, away from the public eye.
