She may be known as SA’s ‘It-Girl’, but Bonang Matheba is fast becoming known for all her behind the scenes celebrity beefs
After all, she has been nominated in the category of ‘Drama Queen of the Year’ at the Feather Awards which takes place this weekend.
From being called a ‘homewrecker’ to a ‘liar’ to even a ‘b’ Bonang has had to put out fires all over the place when it comes to dodging drama.
But despite being touted as the country’s media darling, the following celebrities have claimed to have seen a totally other side of Queen B.
Minnie Dlamini
It’s a known fact that ‘rivals’ Bonang and Minnie keep their distance when it comes to socialising in the industry.
Despite once being colleagues on music show Live, Minnie said this to Grazia magazine last year; “Bonang and I are 100 percent not friends.”
Bonang however told a different version of events when she was quoted in Drum magazine as saying; “We’re cool. Minnie and I are friends
Nonhle Thema
Nonhle once called Bonang a ‘b’ during a Twitter rant in 2011.
The ‘retired’ celebrity also reportedly threw shade at B last year when the latter hosted a segment during the 2015 BET awards. Nonhle took to Instagram to quip; “BET awards tonight. … was there 7 years ago … long time … already did that”
Somizi
Somgaga claims the former BFFs fell out after he claimed Bonang thought he ousted her as AKA’s mistress.
Somizi spilled the beans on what went down during a segment of his reality show, Living The Dream With Somizi. “One morning I wake up and she’s not talking to me and I then hear from people that she unfollowed me on Twitter and on Instagram, hawu. The last time I had spoken to this person she was in Mauritius the night before telling me how much she misses me and then the next thing dololo.”
“All I hear is that she thinks or she was told that I told Zinhle about her relationship with AKA … but why? Why would I do that to her?
“I’m too old for this stuff. People come in your life and leave for a reason.”
DJ Zinhle
It safe to say that Zinhle and Bonang will never be friends, given their history. Zinhle revealed in 2015 that AKA cheated on her with Bonang – while she was pregnant!
The DJ said in a statement; “A week before our daughter was born, I found out about an affair between Kiernan (the father of my child) and Bonang Matheba. I also received confirmation of all rumours through an honest conversation which I had with Kiernan, who confirmed that the affair had been going on for over five months.”
Zinhle further cemented her stance against Bonang after she was posted a selfie wearing a T-shirt Euphonik’s ‘Nonke’ T-shirt (a comment referenced during Euphonik’s epic Twitter rant about Bonang).
Ntsiki Mazwai
Ntsiki has many celebrity enemies, one such being Bonang.
From calling her “ugly” to claiming she “likes trashy men”, Ntsiki is a professional shader when it comes to her relationship with B.
The feud heated up when Ntsiki claimed that Bonang had sent her a threatening email, despite the latter claiming that this was 100% false.
Pearl Thusi
This feud stems from Pearl’s loyalty to BFF Zinhle, who claimed B stole her man.
Not only has the Quantico star gone after Bonang on many an occasion (so much so that she was even reportedly suspended from Metro FM earlier this year for bashing Bonang on air), but she has also publicly taunted B’s boyfriend AKA.
Bonang fired back at the shade by comparing Pearl to “a pair of old leather shoes
Lerato Kganyago
Lerato recently said that she was ‘sick and tired’ of being compared to Queen B, with some even labelling her the ‘Soweto Bonang’.
“I find it weird that people never ask her about me, but I’m the one that has to constantly answer questions about her.’
According to close sources, they claim that the pair do not even greet each other at their place of work. “Bonang’s show, The Front Row comes straight after Lerato’s show The Morning Fix, so the two bump into each other at the studios often but they do not greet each other. So I guess the ‘solidarity’ was maybe just for show
Euphonik
This feud would take the rest of 2016 to unpack. In a nutshell, jilted ex lovers Bonang and Euphonik have a looooong history and publicly mud-sling at each other at every possible opportunity.
Bonang has accused Euphonik of abuse, whilst the latter claims she lied. Euphonik said in an open letter; “Did I physically ab_use my then-girlfriend? No. Not at all. This she lied about,” the letter stated.
More recently the DJ claimed that he had no beef with Bonang’s man AKA and that he could get her back, if he wanted to.
