Hotbed of Tlof Tlof and Drugs: Community Enraged Over Immoral Den Next To Bekkersdal School

Residents of Bekkersdal in Gauteng are fuming over a house that is allegedly used for drug dealing and tlof tlof near a high school.

They claim the house is a hotspot for crime and violence and that it exposes the learners to harmful influences.

Bekkersdal Residents Raise Alarm Over Tlof Tlof Den

Residents told Daily Sun that the house belongs to a woman who rents out rooms to drug dealers and tlof tlof vendors. The community members say the house is always busy with customers and visitors, especially at night and on weekends. They often hear loud music, screams, and gunshots from the house.

The residents wailed that they have reported the house to the police several times, but nothing has been done to stop the illegal activities. They suspect the police are either afraid or corrupt and that they are not protecting the community.

The residents expressed concern over the safety and well-being of the learners attending the nearby Bekkersdal High School. Some of the learners are lured into the house by drug dealers and tlof tlof merchants, who offer them money, drugs, or tlof tlof. This exposes them to diseases, addiction, and abuse.

The community of Bekkersdal wants the house to be shut down and the owner to be arrested. They are tired of living in fear and frustration and want their children to have a better future.

The principal of Bekkersdal High School, Mr Molefe, confirmed that he was aware of the house and its activities. He confirmed that he had also reported it to the police and the education department, but no action had been taken. He said that he had warned the learners about the dangers of going near the house and that he had tried to educate them about drug abuse and sexual health.

Mr Molefe lamented that he was worried about the impact of the house on the learners’ performance and behaviour. He revealed that some of the learners had dropped out of school while others had shown signs of drug use or pregnancy.

The police spokesperson, Captain Mokoena, said he was unaware of any complaints about the house. He said that he would investigate the matter and take appropriate action if any illegal activities were found.
