Omuhle Gela Undergoes Lip Neutralization

In recent years, South African celebrities have increasingly turned to cosmetic procedures to “perfect” their appearances. From Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs) and liposuction to breast implants and teeth veneers, stars have been seeking surgical solutions to enhance their natural features.

The latest celebrity to join this trend is reality TV star, actress, and influencer Omuhle Gela, who has recently undergone lip neutralization.

Demystifying Lip Neutralization

Lip neutralization is a procedure that helps to even out and lighten the colour of one’s lips. People with melanin-rich skin or certain medical conditions, as well as those who smoke, may experience darker or uneven lip pigmentation. The lip neutralization technique uses a lip tattooing pen with multiple small needles to deposit pigment and correct these skin undertones, creating a more uniform and brighter lip appearance.

Omuhle Gela Documents Lip Neutralization Journey

Omuhle documented the procedure and her healing process, explaining that her goal was to have her upper lip match the original colour of her lower lip, creating a “gloss and go effect” without the need for lipstick.

“The aim of this process is specifically formulated to neutralize the lip colour and create a brighter and even tone. I wanted the upper lip to match the lower lip and I wanted to create a gloss and go effect without having to use lipstick to even the lips,” Omuhle explained.

She acknowledged that the healing process takes time but emphasized that the results are worth it.

“After the procedure, there will be a reddish coral tone, but it will heal into a soft natural pink or red. It is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo. The colour develops over eight to 10 weeks.”

In an interview, Omuhle Gela encouraged those who are unhappy with a part of their body to consider cosmetic procedures if they can afford it.

“Do you, as long as you are not harming anyone and it makes you feel good,” she said. “Gone are the days when people used to hide that they have had some work done.”

While Omuhle is content with her recent lip enhancement, she remains uncertain about which other areas of her body she might consider working on in the future saying, “For now, I’m still content.”
