Banyana Banyana Gears Up For Comoros Match

South Africa’s senior women’s team “Banyana Banyana” will be today looking forward to collecting another three points and maintaining a clean sheet when they tussle with Comoros in the last match of their group A encounter of the 2020 Cosafa Women’s Championship.
Banyana Banyana has since bagged six points from their two games that they have played against Tanzania and Eswatini following their 2 – 0 and 5 – 0 respective victories last week.
“We have managed to collect six points in our last two games which is good and we are now looking at our next match against the Comoros and we are looking at giving more game time to some of the players because some have not played for seven months due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and current nationwide lockdown restrictions, everyone should be kept fit rotating the squad in the process so that everyone gets a chance but we are hopeful that we will emerge victorious,” said Desiree Ellis, Banyana Banyana’s head coach.
Banyana Banyana are currently sitting at the summit of Group A and have already one foot in the Cosafa semifinals. Moreso, Ellis is now looking forward to ensuring a fourth consecutive Cosafa title for Banyana Banyana.
Through the Cosafa tourneys, Banyana Banyana have managed to produce some sterling players who are now playing for top-flight teams in Europe and other countries across the globe.
Today Groups A, B, and C will all wrap up their group matches with Zimbabwe taking on Botswana at 12h30 in their group C final match, Zambia tussling it off with Malawi at the same time, and Angola going head to head with Eswatini at 15h30.
