Tumi Can’t Act, Will She Exit The River?
We have all known why Lindani left The River and we keep wondering if he couldn’t act to save his life. I am sad the actor lost his job i am also relieved that he is gone as well.
Because I’ve seen Lunga Shabalala presenting and modeling and those are his stronger points, he’s so much better at that and should stick to that instead of torturing every night.
Perhaps his exit will highlight a very important lesson to other South African celebrities…just because you are in the limelight doesn’t mean you know how to do everything.
But I keep wondering, now that Lindani is out, will Tumi be next? Because Tumi would be great as an actress on one of those Mzansi Wethu or Mzansi Magic bioskop shows, this role is just, just too big for her. She is just a hard nut to crack although we’ve tried and tried and given her chances.
Even with the changes to her hairstyle. She’s not as terrible as the first season and Mabutho and other talented actors make her seem not as bad as she was with Lindani but something’s gotta give eventually. Her features do fit the character and she’s got a great chemistry/connection with her on-screen mother; Lindiwe but there’s still a lot of work to do in terms of cracking the role.
It would be very hard for the producers to just replace her with a more talented actress who has some similarities to Lindiwe but it might jeopardize the show’s ratings. Because it’s not always a good idea to listen to viewers, she’s not great, perhaps that’s what’s also keeping viewers glued to the screen, her not-so-great skill.
Never the less, unless she leaves the show due to pressure, I don’t see Tumi leaving the river anytime soon.
