The Mommy Club Star Her Majesty Shares Encounter with Thabo Bester
Her Majesty, whose real name is Happy Simelane, recently appeared on Showmax’s The Mommy Club, where she revealed a chilling encounter with Thabo Bester, a convicted rapist and murderer known as the “Facebook rapist.” During the show, accusations of attention-seeking were hurled at her by fellow cast member Ratile Mabitsela, who accused Her Majesty of leaking the information for publicity.
Denial of Being a “Clout Chaser”
In response to the accusations, Her Majesty denied being a “clout chaser” and explained her intention of bringing awareness to her ordeal. “I took that story to the newspaper to make them aware. And, at that time, I didn’t know that was Thabo Bester,” she said. Her revelation aimed to shed light on the dangers she faced during her encounter with Bester and the potential threat of human trafficking.
The Terrifying Meeting with Bester

As evidence, she shared WhatsApp conversations and a screenshot of a flight ticket from Dubai to Johannesburg. The discussions also included talks of a 12-month contract, where she was promised an alleged sum of $3.2 million (approximately R55 million).
Claims of Proof and Communication with Accomplice
Her Majesty asserted that she possesses voice notes and text messages as proof of the meeting. She also claimed to have spoken to Bester’s girlfriend and accomplice, Dr. Nandipha Magudumana, regarding the matter.
The Notorious Couple’s Legal Troubles
Thabo Bester and Dr. Nandipha have been making headlines since the beginning of 2023. Their story first came to light when Ground Up revealed Bester’s daring escape from Mangaung Correctional Services in Bloemfontein on 3 May 2022, where he was initially believed to have perished in a fire.
Bester was already serving a life sentence for the murder of his then-girlfriend and saleswoman, Nomfundo Tyhulu, in Cape Town, and the rape and aggravated robbery of two women in Durban. He was also linked to multiple rapes and robberies in at least four provinces.
Upcoming Court Appearance
Presently, Bester is detained at Kgosi Mampuru II C-max prison in Pretoria, while Dr. Nandipha is being held in the hospital wing of the Kroonstad Correctional Centre in Free State. On 8 August, they are scheduled to appear in court along with 11 co-accused, including Dr. Nandipha and her father, Zolile Sekeleni.
