When It Rains, It Pours for Jub Jub: Two TV Shows Pull the Plug on Molemo Maarohanye Amid Rape Charges
When it rains, it pours, and for TV personality Jub Jub, the storm clouds continue to gather.
Facing a legal maelstrom of rape, assault, attempted murder, and kidnapping charges, Jub Jub whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye has now been dropped by not one but two popular television shows.
Uzalo and Clash of the Choirs have reportedly terminated their contracts with Jub Jub as his legal battles take center stage.

Stained Glass Productions, the production company behind SABC 1’s popular soapie Uzalo, has officially terminated their contract with TV personality Jub Jub. The decision comes in light of the serious rape, assault, attempted murder, and kidnapping charges brought against the rapper, whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye.
Nokuthula Dlamini, the line producer for Uzalo, confirmed this recent development to Sunday World.
“We were still in the process of signing a contract with him when the SABC raised concerns about the allegations that were leveled against him. We decided to refrain from going ahead with him. If the cases are dropped, to my understanding, we might review our decision,” she revealed.
The financial details of Jub Jub’s contract reveal that Uzalo had agreed to pay him R20,000 on a call basis and R160,000 on a global call basis, excluding taxes, deductions, transport, and special needs trust.

Clash of the Choirs’ Responds to Allegations
Jub Jub was also reportedly hired as the host of Mzansi Magic’s ‘Clash of The Choirs.’ However, Vanessa Tloubatla, a representative of the show, seemed unaware of these developments. If the reports are accurate, Jub Jub was set to receive R200,000 for this gig.

Jub Jub’s legal woes continue to mount. On August 24th, the musician made a brief appearance at the Johannesburg magistrate’s court, revealing additional charges against him. Initially charged with three counts of rape, two counts of attempted murder, and assault when he surrendered to the Brixton police earlier in the month, his legal predicament has deepened significantly.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane stated,
“He is facing 13 counts ranging from multiple counts of rape, indecent assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and several counts of kidnapping.“
