Dinner At Somizi’s Will Not Stop

Multichoice, through its spokesperson Benedict Maaga has revealed that media personality Somizi Mhlongo’s show, Dinner At Somizi’s will not stop airing.

Maaga confirmed they have already reached out to Hastings, but added that the concept theft allegations against Somizi will not be affecting the airing of the remaining episodes of the show.

“We are also engaging the show’s producer. This claim will not impact on the airing of the remaining episodes of the show,” he told Sowetan.

Somizi is currently trending on social media following explosive evidence that he ripped off an idea from one of his fans to start his hit cooking series, Dinner At Somizi’s.

Leaked emails proved that Mzansi’s fave stole the idea of his new hit show “Dinner at Somizi’s” from one, Hastings Moeng.

Reports also indicated that Multichoice, which is responsible for airing the show played along with the idea that was also pitched to them without giving Hastings recognition.

This has given both Somizi and Multichoice bad publicity on how they manage all intellectual property rights coming their way.

Many people on social media expressed their disappointment in Somizi and Multichoice.

However, as for Somizi who has been at the center of the whole mess, his silence on the issue is very loud.

This especially after posting a clip of himself playing along with Kelly Khumalo’s hit single Empini, has been seen as shade to the allegations.

Kelly’s song addresses haters who look to see people fail in what they do: “Don’t you know that people do not want to see others succeed? They get surprised, they hurt you whilst staring at you right in the eyes…,” the lyrics translate.

And this seems to have been directed to the accusations.

However, no formal statement on the issue has come from Somizi yet.
